Bicentennial Bridge construction begins Monday in Benton Harbor

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The Michigan Department of Transportation announced on Friday that work will begin to repair the Bicentennial Bridge, the I-94 Business Loop bascule bridge over the St. Joseph River in Benton Harbor at 8 a.m. Monday.
Officials say that during construction, the bridge will remain closed to boat traffic while keeping a single lane open on I-94 for vehicle traffic.
The work is expected to be finished by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17.
