Bicyclist dies from injuries sustained in crash

A bicyclist who was struck by a car on SR 19 and CR600 Sunday around 10 p.m. has died, according to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies say a man driving northbound on SR 19 did not see 45-year-old Dung Nguyen on his bicycle until just prior to hitting the bike.

Deputies said Nguyen had an operational light on the front of the bike, but the rear light was not activated. The reflectors on the back of the bike were covered by objects and/or bags Nguyen had attached to the bike.

Nguyen was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He died on Monday.

The Allen County Coroner says Nguyen died of blunt force trauma.
