A quick punch of snow and cold
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Each year, furniture retailer, Big Sandy Superstore reaches out to local non-profits to nominate someone in the community that could use a new set of furniture.
The store goes through at least 100-200 applications of deserving families each year.
This year, Caylie Morales, Director of The Boys and Girls Clubs of St. Joe County nominated Tashayla Wright.
Wright is a single mother of 3 children, who just moved her family into a townhome about 6 months ago, looking for a new start on life.
They’ve been relying on a futon to sit on, but on Wednesday morning, they were surprised with a knock on their door.
Big Sandy staff dropped off a brand-new sofa and loveseat, beds and frames for everyone, and a washer and dryer.
This gift will help to make the family more comfortable as they continue to settle into their new place.
Tashayla tells ABC57, “I’m so excited, like I’m overwhelmed. It was so unexpected, and it just means a lot to me. I feel like God blessed us; you know? He gave us this opportunity.”
