Temperature roller coaster into the weekend, rain and snow
MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Some visitors to the Riverwalk in downtown Mishawaka have reported being dive-bombed by a red winged black bird.
The birds perch on the light post or a tree near the Riverwalk and dive bomb visitors in an attempt to protect their nest.
"We had some red winged black birds that have nested here in Beutter Park and along the Riverwalk and unfortunately when they have a nest they’re very protective of that. So unfortunately some of our walkers if they stop there too long or something like that they’ve been dive bombed by the actual birds," said Lieutenant Tim Williams of the Mishawaka Police Department.
The bird won't hurt you so it's safe to walk at the Riverwalk.
