SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Black Lives Matter South Bend is publicly calling for the ousting of the chairman of the City's Reparatory Justice Commission.
The Commission was established just over a year ago and set up to research potential reparations for past historical discrimination in the city.
Black Lives Matter South Bend says the Commission has lost three Black members over the past year and are now calling for the Black Chairman of the group to step down.
Dr. Darryl Heller, the Director of the Civil Rights Heritage Center at IUSB, currently oversees the Reparatory Justice Commission.
Black Lives Matter is asking for either NAACP President Trina Robinson or former Common Council Member Regina Williams-Preston to take over.
Dr. Darryl Heller has yet to comment.
