Annual Easter Egg Hunt brings families together in Elkhart
LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- Boat racers from all over the country came to Washington Park Beach in Michigan City Saturday to compete in the 16th annual Great Lakes Grand Prix.
In a series of different racing classes, boaters earned points in the hopes of moving their way up to the National World Championship!
Executive Director of the LaPorte County Convention & Visitors Bureau Dan Bearss says the event helps to highlight Michiana on the map in the world of boat racing.
"There's six different races held around the country. A lot of them are concentrated in Florida, and it's this race here, and the Key West races are the two signature races in the series," explains Bearss. "That means that of the races that are out there, there's two events that stand out and are the class of the field, and Michigan City is one of those two races."
The event brought out boat loads of community members to watch the racing and enjoy the beaches of Michigan City.
