The body of the 13-year-old swimmer who has been missing from the Warren Dunes State Park beach since Thursday night has been recovered, according to the Berrien County Sheriff's Office.
The young woman was reported missing from the just before 9 p.m. Thursday.
First responders and the US Coast Guard searched for her Thursday night until dark. The search resumed Friday morning.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., Chikaming Township Police were notified a body had washed up near Pier Road in Lakeside, Michigan.
Responding officers confirmed it was the 13-year-old who was missing from Warren Dunes.
Deputies said the 13-year-old was from Otsego, Michigan. Her name has not been released.
