Body parts discovered in sewer near Detroit

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. — A crew working on a sewer line made a gruesome discovery. On Thursday morning, the crew found body parts.

The body parts are similar to other body parts of a woman found four months ago in the same sewer line.

"You don't know where the body parts were dumped into,"  said Public Works Commissioner Anthony V. Morrocco. "But eventually they all flow down, it's a gravity flow sewer with six feet water in that pipe. So, it's easy to push all those parts down with the other sewage."

The sewer line is nearly 13 feet in diameter and carries sewage waste from nearly a million customers in Macomb and Oakland counties.
