Body recovered from Lake Michigan

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- A man's body was recovered by a boater approximately 12 miles off the Lake Michigan shoreline Monday morning, according to the Berrien County Sheriff's Office.

Around 11:30 a.m., the Coast Guard received information from a sailboat captain that had found a body in Lake Michigan, approximately 12 miles off Shoreham.

The body was recovered by the Coast Guard and turned over the Berrien County Sheriff's Marine Unit and the Detective Bureau.

An autopsy will be conducted at WMU Med.

The investigation is ongoing.
