Boil water advisory issued for northeast of South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A boil water advisory has been issued for residents in northeast of South Bend, the city announced.

The advisory is a precaution due to a loss of pressure in the city’s water distribution system on Friday.

Affected customers are bordered by Auten Road on the north, Cleveland Road on the south, Ironwood Road on the west, and Hickory Road on the east.

Water pressure has been restored but the advisory will extend through 2 p.m. on May 16.

Residents and businesses in the area are encouraged to boil water used for consumption for three minutes and to let it cool before using.

Bottled or cooled boiled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, food preparation, and water for pets.
