Boil water order and do not drink orders in Berrien County

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – A boil water order was issued for River Springs Estates and a "Do Not Drink Order" for Meadow Streams Mobile Home Community.

Berrien Springs and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality issued a precautionary boil water order on Monday.

The order is only for the residents of River Springs Estates located on Old US-31 Highway in Berrien Township.

No other Berrien Springs Water customers are recommended to do this.

The order is precautionary and is due to the loss of water pressure in the service lines because of recent flooding.

The boil water order is in effect until further notice.

The township of Sodus and MDEQ requested the residents of Meadow Streams Mobile Home Community do not drink the tap water. 

The order is only for the residents of Meadow Streams which is located on River Road in Sodus.

The wells in the mobile home community could have been contaminated by flood waters. 

Until further notice, members of the community should drink bottled water.
