Booster club to support mentoring programs

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend's newest Booster Club is going to support and expand mentoring programs for our youngest residents.

Monday, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Council Members and the city's Mentoring Dream Team got together to announce the latest club to help guide our youth.

"The idea of this initiative is to double the number of mentors in our community, and double the number of relationships between adult role models and kids who need that in their lives," said Buttigieg.

The mentor programs help at-risk kids get their grades up and improve personal success and self- confidence.
