Boy nearly drowns in Kendallville

KENDALLVILLE, Ind. — A 5-year-old boy remains hospitalized in Fort Wayne after a near-drowning in Noble County. It happened at Bixler Lake in Kendallville, Ind.
Indiana conservation officers say the boy was with his family at the beach but went missing.
Lifeguards found him within minutes in about 5 feet of water.
The boy was rushed to Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville before being transferred to a hospital in Fort Wayne.
