ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – The Boys & Girls Club of St. Joseph County has received an annual contribution of $20,000 from the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi.

The donation is part of the Tribe’s voluntary local agreement with the City of South Bend to share revenue from its Four Winds South Bend casino.

This contribution accounts for the third annual contribution the BGCSJC has received from the Pokagon Band.

Tribal Chairman of the Pokagon Band and CEO of the Pokagon Gaming Authority Matthew Wesaw explains why they donate to serve the community.

“The Pokagon Band is very proud to be able to continue our annual voluntary contributions to the Boys & Girls Clubs, which plays a vital role in serving the community,” said Wesaw. “Although the challenges due to COVID-19 persist, we must continue to find ways to support individuals and families, especially those with the greatest need. We commend Boys & Girls Clubs for their continued efforts to serve the community in spite of the current environment.”

Funds are part of a voluntary local agreement which will reach a total of $100,000 over five years.
