NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Ian Book, the all-time winningest quarterback in Fighting Irish history, will be taking his skills to the NFL, along with eight of his teammates.
However, College quarterbacks can have difficulty transitioning from college to the pros especially those drafted after the first round, often struggle to find the right place.
Ian Book is undersized by NFL draft standards at six-foot not getting taken until the fourth round by the New Orleans Saints!
However, Coach Brian Kelly says he thinks it's still a great spot for book.
“he brings so many intangibles that nobody can really compete with and then he can play the position, new orleans obviously a great fit they’ve already been with a quarterback that is 6 foot, and recognize that you don’t throw over offensive linemen or defensive linemen you throw around them, so ian will do quite well there,”
Ian Book will have an opportunity to compete for a starting spot with Drew Brees retiring but odds are he'll be a backup this fall.
