Bullet enters window of home; police investigating

La Porte Police are investigating a call of shots fired where a bullet was found to have entered the window of a home.

The call went out at approximately 2:00 p.m. on February 8 in the 700 block of Jackson Street.

According to police, a witness saw his roommate and the 29-year-old male suspect arguing over a female.

The witness told police the suspect left but returned a short time later and began to argue with the witness' roommate again.

According to the witness, the suspect then pulled out a handgun and began to fire near where the witness and his roommate were standing.

Upon arrival, police located a damaged window in one of the residences in the 700 block of Jackson Street. A fragmented bullet was found in the window sill.

The resident of that home told police she was inside when she heard what she believed to be a gunshot. After several minutes, she went to check and found the damaged window.

There were no injuries in this shooting incident and police say this case remains under investigation.
