Breezy, rainy and cooler
CASS COUNTY, Mich. --Deputies of Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke responded to a two-vehicle crash on Reum Street and US 12, which occurred on 12-29-22 at approximately 9:35 a.m.
87-year-old Carol Minard of Niles, Michigan was driving a Subaru, failed to yield and pulled out in front of a SMCAS Ambulance, that was going west bound on US 12.
21-year-old Luke Tolley of Niles, Michigan was driving the Ambulance, with 35-year-old Alecia Boatman of South Bend, Indiana in the passenger seat.
The Ambulance tried to avoid Minard's vehicle but was hit.
Minard was transported to South Bend Memorial with minor injuries, and Tolley and Boatman were transported to Lakeland Niles Hospital for minor injuries as well.
According to deputies, neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor in the crash.
All of the individuals were wearing the proper safety restraints.
This crash is still under investigation.
