Cass County road crews preparing for lake effect snow

The Cass County Road Commission has been preparing for the lake-effect snow that could have a large impact on the county.

The Cass County Road Commission has a vehicle for every type of street. They have giant plow trucks, as well as pickups and tractors to plow roads.
But all that wheel power may not be enough.

Lake effect wind can blow the snow back into the street after it’s plowed, so the Road Commission asks for your patience.

"What happens is sometimes we get out there and we get the roads cleared and then they blow back shut. And then a lot of times the motorists are unhappy with that due to the fact that maybe they don’t feel that we’ve been there but we actually have been," said Steve Lucas, Managing Director of the Cass County Road Commission.
