Catalytic converter theft at a car detailing shop

ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police Department reported that an officer was dispatched at 1:19 p.m. on Wednesday to a car detailing shop on the 5000 block of Verdant Street for a call concerning stolen catalytic converters.

An employee of Hop’s Quality Detail informed the dispatched officer that two vehicles in the parking lot had their catalytic converters cut off and stolen.

The employee added that the last time the two vehicles were known to be fully intact was on Monday at approximately noon.

Police say there is currently no suspect information and no arrests have been made.
