Celebrations underway for commencements across Michiana

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A time for celebration, as commencement ceremonies take place all across Michiana, and students take the next step in their journey to the workforce.

At Saint Mary's College today, 359 students walked across the stage in the 178th commencement ceremony for the college, getting their big moment in front of friends and family.

Another commencement ceremony took place this afternoon at Holy Cross College.

The year marks the 58th commencement for Holy Cross, and hundreds were able to achieve a crucial moment in their lives, as they crossed the stage and became a graduate.

"I'm ecstatic. This is, this is a real moment, especially getting to redo the walking through the arch again from freshman year. It's pretty it's pretty special. I'm happy. I was nervous doing the welcome, but then it was like a like a weight off my shoulder as soon, as soon as we crossed the stage. I mean feelings just happy and ecstatic," stated Graduate Tim Brown.

Holy Cross says this year's class included a diverse group with many first-generation graduates.
