Chicago Baptist church sign gets mixed reaction

UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. — A Chicago Baptist church sign is raising some eyebrows.

A sign at a University Park, Illinois church reads "It is safe to kill black people in Amerikkka." The misspelling is intentional according to the church.

The sign is in reference to both the Zimmerman trial verdict and the Ku Klux Klan.

Much like the reaction to the verdict, the reation to the sign is mixed as well.

The church's pastor released a statement online saying: "The mistreatment of African Americans historically and curently is far too cavalier."

He says the sign is not intended to divide, but instead, to make people think.
