MISHAWAKA, Ind. – About two months after a gun shop was burglarized in Kosciusko County, Police in Mishawaka found a child with one of the missing guns.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and court documents, 33-year-old Todd Shumaker broke into Albertson’s Sport Shop in Warsaw on September 22nd.
Shumaker was arrested nearly a month later. According to charging documents, he stole about 60 guns and ammunition during the burglary. He sold those guns for $3,600, according to court documents.
According to Mishawaka Police logs, officers arrested a 17-year-old boy named Demarko when officers found one of those stolen guns during a traffic stop on November 21st.
According to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, only 2 of the 60 guns have been recovered since the burglary.
