Chrysler recalls 3 million older Jeep models

DETROIT — Chrysler announced it will now recall nearly 3 million older model Jeeps because of a fuel tank issue.

The government claims at least 51 people have died in fires sparked by rear end crashes.

Investigators say the placement of the gas tank is to blame.

Chrysler maintains there is no problem with gas tank.

But they will install a trailer hitch on affected Jeeps to absorb rear end impacts.
