ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Environmental Center will host the sixth annual "Waggin' in the Woods" on Sunday. 

The free event is for families and their fluffy four-legged friends and will include human- and pet-friendly activities, vendors, food trucks, and a Pooch Parade. While admission is free donations are appreciated and encouraged.

This event is presented by Tracking in the Shadows, a local dog rescue group run by volunteers, and the EEC with all donations going to Tracking in the Shadows to support them and the dogs they help.

Suggested donations include:

• High-quality dog food
• Pet beds
• Pet toys
• Food/Water dishes
• Leashes
• Collars
• Crates
• Treats
• Pet store gift cards

The Pooch Parade is at noon and 2 p.m. The noon Pooch Parade prizes include Best Use of Recycled Materials/Best Homemade Costume and Best Pooch & Human look alike, while the 2 p.m. prizes include Best Superhero(s) & Best Family Costume. 

The event is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
