Church works with new website to help Michiana flood victims

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - You can donate more than money to victims of Michiana's historic flooding. You can also donate your time and hard work!

A new website is connecting flood victims with volunteers. The site is run by the group "National Voluntary Organizations Active In Disaster." You can get to the site by clicking HERE.

After victims sign up, volunteers who have also joined the site can go directly to those people to help without having to go through an organization.

The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter DaySsaints is using the web site to help people here in Michiana.

One of the organizers says flood victims should sign up now.

"It makes you visible, it makes your needs visible. It puts you right out there so people can see it," says organizer Tressa Nichols.

If you need help you can call 1-800-415-1954 through March 17th.
