City hosting cleanup in Lincoln-Bendix Park neighborhood

SOUTH BEND, Ind.—The City of South Bend is hosting a neighborhood rehab event in the Lincoln-Bendix Park neighborhood on August 24.

The event is part of the “Love Your Block” program.

Volunteer check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. at 915 N. Olive Street.

Volunteers will pick up litter, perform minor landscaping work and assist with small home repairs at specific sites.

A block party will follow the cleanup with free food, music and games from noon until 4 p.m.

The city received a $25,000 grant from the Cities of Service in 2018 to work with multiple neighborhoods that could benefit from a cleanup.
