City of Mishawaka closes city buildings to walk-in traffic

The City of Mishawaka announced Monday it will close all city government buildings from March 24 at 11:59 p.m. through April 6 because of Governor Eric Holcomb's Executive Order that asks all residents to stay home to slow the spread of COVID-19.

The closures include the Battell Community Center, City park playgrounds, Eberhart-Petro Municipal Golf Course and all public restrooms.

Mishawaka parks and the Mishawaka Riverwalk will remain open.

During this time, the city will not penalize individuals or businesses for late payments of city ordinance violations.

City of Mishawaka Departments will continue to be open by appointment only. Contact information can be found on the city's website.

All critical city services and utilities will continue: police, fire, emergency medical services, water, electric, wastewater, sewer and street/facilities maintenance.  

Trash and recycling will continue on a normal schedule.
