City of South Bend working on getting Family Dollar land appraised

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- That controversial Family Dollar land deal just took another jarring twist.

The City of South Bend has voted to get two separate appraisals of the piece of property where a Family Dollar used to sit.

The city had planned to give the land to Saint Joseph’s High School, until groups protested, saying it violated the separation of church and state.

Once the city has the proposals it will open it up for bids.
