City to open new animal shelter

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend will hold a grand opening ceremony for its animal shelter on Wednesday.
The new shelter is located on Eclipse Place, right next to the Kennedy Water Playground.
The new shelter is considered a major improvement over the old Olive Street Fire Station.
There is more space for staff and the animals.
The ceremony is at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a guided tour.
