HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. – Claire’s issued a voluntary recall of three makeup products Tuesday following FDA tests that showed traces of asbestos in their products.
The recall affects Claire’s Compact Powder, Claire’s Eyeshadows and Claire’s Contour Palette.
While Claire’s maintains that the fibers found in the makeup were not in fact asbestos, they still issued the recall.
The affected products are no longer available in stores, but could still be in consumers’ homes. The SKUs/Lots being recalled are:
- Claire's Compact Powder, UPC #888711839153, SKU #83915, Lot No. 07/15
- Claire's Eyeshadows, UPC #888711847165, SKU #84716, Lot No. 08/17
- Claire's Contour Palette, UPC #888711401947, SKU #40194, Lot No. 04/17
Said products were for sale between October of 2016 and March of 2019. Customers with these products should stop using the makeup and can return them to a Claire's store for a full refund.
