Classmate allegedly laces bag of chips with K-2

DETROIT -- Two students in Detroit are recovering after eating chips that were laced with drugs.

According to a newsletter sent home to parents, an eighth grade boy allegedly sprinkled with K-2 into a bag of chips and then offered it to four of his classmates.

Those four students got sick, putting two into the hospital.

According to the newsletter, the eighth grader has been expelled.

"I think it is unfortunate but this is a good school," said parent Greg Norris. "It's a good neighborhood and I have full confidence that it's not going to happen again and that my kids will be okay."

Detroit Police are investigating the case. It is not clear if the boy involved will face any charges.
