Clerk error results in NH lottery jackpot

HILLSBOROUGH, N.H. -- Right place wrong ticket, or was it?

A New Hampshire family is $2 million richer all because of a mistake. The Bennett family won the lottery jackpot all because a convenience store clerk sold them the wrong ticket.

The family originally wanted to buy a "Lucky for Life" ticket, but the clerk accidentally hit the "Mega Bucks" button.

"He’s sitting on the couch with the ticket on one hand and the New Hampshire lottery website on the computer just staring at both of them and really truly didn't believe it,” said Cathy Bennett.

The Bennetts thanked the clerk for her mistake. It's unclear if they plan on sharing any of it with her.
