One of downtown's south bend's biggest places to party or catch a performance is up for sale
For decades, Club Fever has served as the backdrop for big parties and performances.
But now, the nearly 38 thousand square foot property is up for sale with an asking price of 1.79 million dollars.
"I'm going to turn 52 pretty soon, it's time for me to let somebody younger take over," said Club Fever owner Dee Davis.
Davis purchased the place back in 2005. It's just one of his several business ventures, you could say he's a man of many hats.
"And it's time to let somebody take a few of those hats and spend some time enjoying life,” said Davis. “Club fever's great it's just getting to be too much of a struggle for me to keep that candle lit on both ends."
So what happens to the downtown area if that candle goes out?
"There's always great places to come downtown, our city does a great job of recreating itself," said Krista Keirnan, the director of business engagement for Downtown South Bend. "Club fever has been many different clubs and restaurants in the past. Will it still be a nightclub, we really don't know, but we definitely look forward to whatever the next evolution of it will be in the future."
"I'm kind of excited to see what somebody fresh can do with it."
