SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The teen who was shot Wednesday evening on Woodhill Lane in South Bend died Thursday afternoon, according to the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit.
The teen has been identified as 17-year-old Darnell A. Tobar II.
He died at 12:33 p.m. Thursday at the hospital.
The CMHU said Tobar did not live at the Woodhill Lane address. He was just visiting.
Eric Hauguel has lived in the neighborhood for 20 years and has never heard a shot fired.
He came home around midnight to police cars and crime scene tape.
"I didn't know what was going on and I walk in the house and my wife and kids were saying there was a gun involved, and a shot," Hauguel.
No arrests have been made.
If you have any information in this case, please contact CMHU at 235-5009 or Crime Stoppers at 288-STOP.
