NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Are you ready for some football?
Notre Dame starts spring practice on Wednesday.
What’s first on the agenda? Coach Kelly is trying to narrow down a quarterback -- again!
Coach Brian Kelly told us on Tuesday that the Irish have four options -- including returning starter Tommy Rees, Andrew Hendrix, Everett Golson, and of course, Indiana’s own Gunner Kiel.
Kelly said he wants the competition to be an even playing field.
"To give it an equal footing for all, we've kind of scaled back so the spring it’s going to give all the quarterbacks, including a mid-year in Gunner Kiel and the two young guys, an opportunity to truly compete for the position,” said Coach Kelly.
The Irish also have six fifth-year players returning this year.
