Cold tonight, wintry mix possible Sunday
ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast
Friday, January 7, 2021Snow will finally wrap up for select spots in southwest Michigan this evening. Portions of Berrien and Cass counties were walloped by lake-effect snow over the past few days. All told, some spots are reporting close to two feet of accumulation. As such, roads will still be hazardous tonight in northern Berrien and Cass counties. The rest of us will be partly cloudy and cold with lows dipping close to 0 and sub-zero feels-like temperatures once again.
A quick warm-up is on the way for Saturday, with more sunshine and highs getting above freezing. This "nicer" weather is short lived, however. A wintry mix moves in Saturday night, which could include some light freezing rain or freezing drizzle. Given the cold ground temperatures, this could make for very slick spots into Sunday morning. The wintry mix will turn into more of a rain/snow cocktail by Sunday morning before ending. Sunday will be windy before some light lake-effect snow could return for Monday. We look milder and quieter for much of next week, though!
Tonight: Partly cloudy and very cold. Low 5.
Tomorrow: Mostly sunny and milder. High 33. Wintry mix moves in by evening.
Sunday: Rain/snow in the morning, then decreasing clouds and windy. Morning high of 33 drops to near 20 by the afternoon.
Monday: Cloudy with a few snow showers possible. High 17.
