Colorado director of corrections fatally shot

DENVER -- Flags in Colorado have been lowered to half-staff in memory of the Director of Colorado Corrections Tom Clements.

He was killed Tuesday night at his home in Monument, Colorado.

Wednesday the governor held a press conference and was visibly upset by the event.

"Tom Clements dedicated his life to be a public servant, to making our state better, to making the world a better place and he is going to be deeply, deeply missed," said Governor John Hickenlooper.

Clements is survived by his wife and two daughters.
