Comedy is BACK! The Drop Comedy Club is preparing for their spring season

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- After spending an entire year entertaining via zoom, or gathering outdoors, the Drop Comedy Club is thrilled to begin a new chapter at the Aloft Hotel. Both establishments are hoping to become a hidden gem of South Bend through this creative partnership.

Comics like Maxwell Tidey are excited, too! As a Michiana native and the co-owner of the Drop, the venue has always doubled as a home away from home.

“I was probably 14 when I realized I wanted to do standup comedy, and I googled the nearest club and it was the drop,” says Tidey.

As we inch closer to the end of the pandemic tunnel, local comics like Tidey say they’re excited to reconnect with audience members--- looking for laughs--- now, more than ever.

“Comedy is super important, especially now, the past year has been rough for a lot of people, and live entertainment in the world we are living in now with internet and Netflix is something people think they can go by not needed. Some think it is an old way of doing something, but it’s important and everyone needs a laugh. It is the best form of medicine,” says Tidey.

The grand reopening is set for April 2nd and the featured headliner is Stewart Huff. The club is of course following COVID precautions, with half capacity, frequent sanitization, and mask wearing when not seated. For ticket information, visit here.
