Commission will recommend carry-out alcohol sales in Indiana on Sundays

The Alcohol Code Revision Commission will recommend allowing alcohol sales on Sunday in Indiana.

The commission is expected to release a final report after their final meeting on December 8 and forward it to state legislators.

Their recommendation is carry-out alcohol sales from noon to 8 p.m., effective July 1, 2018.

Alcohol sales would be permitted at retail establishments from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. for alcohol consumed on the property.

The committee is also recommending alcohol sales at athletic or sports events on Sunday, including any facility with a track more than 2 miles in length used for the sport of auto racing.
