Community Calendar: Get educated with Michiana Brits car show and honor vets with Fallen Heroes ride

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Multiple events are set to take place Sunday throughout Michiana that go right towards a good cause.

Starting at 8 a.m., riders can put up the kickstands and head to the Walmart on Ireland Road in South Bend to register their bikes for the 17th Annual Fallen Heroes Ride, organized by American Legion Post 308.

Registration is $15 for one rider and $25 for two.

All proceeds raised by the ride will be distributed to the families of veterans who have lost their lives during service.

The 60-mile ride kicks off at 11 a.m. from the American Legion post in Osceola, located at 122 Lincolnway East.

If you're looking to bring the kids along today and get educated, the 35th annual Michiana Brit's Car Show is set to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Yearly, the show brings in around 100 British-made cars to be put on display behind the Dalloway's Clubhouse on the campus of St. Mary's College.

When the show got its start, it was more car-enthusiast oriented, but has grown to be a more family friendly event over the years.

Two-seater cars will be available for the kids and food vendors will be on-site.

Organizers also say that the show is a good educational experience for the Michiana community, especially considering South Bend's long history with the automotive industry.

More information on the show as well as the types of registered vehicles can be found here
