Concord Junior High student suspended after allegedly making threat

A Concord Junior High School student has been suspended after allegedly making a threat about harming students and staff Wednesday afternoon.

Concord Community Schools Police and administrators received information Wednesday afternoon that a student was making threats about harming students and staff during a convocation scheduled for Friday, September 27, reports said.

Officers investigated several witnesses and determined the student made the statement, reports said.

The student was suspended pending an expulsion hearing, according to district protocols.

School officials say charges have been filed with the prosecutor's office.

School district officials thanked students and staff for being proactive about reporting the incident.
