Congressman Upton announces $100,000 for dredging St. Joseph Harbor

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. – It looks like the St. Joseph harbor may get dredged after all.

On Tuesday, Congressman Fred Upton announced that $100,000 of emergency money will go to the Army Corps of Engineers for dredging.

The harbor closed last week when measurements showed a high build-up of sand.

Earlier this month, one boat actually got stuck, and several shipments had to be re-routed.

Right now, there is no timetable for the emergency dredging.
