Construction project causes headaches for drivers

Mishawaka, IN - There were plenty of headaches for drivers, Monday, on Capital Avenue in Mishawaka.

A construction project closed down State Road 331, going both directions, near Lincoln Way West.

The road was completely closed, but that didn't’t stop people from trying to get through.

ABC 57 found a few people sitting in lawn chairs just watching people make u-turns.

The group said that 10 people turned around in just 15 minutes, even though a warning sign was posted for more than a week before construction started.

Stephanie Campbell, a member of the group watching cars said, “It says road closed you're not going to get through. Keep your eyes open people because we're watching and all you're doing is providing entertainment for us.”

Construction is expected to wrap up by August 20.
