Coroner identifies woman struck, killed on I-65

JASPER COUNTY, Ind. – The woman who was struck and killed on I-65 on Sunday has been identified.

On Tuesday, the Jasper County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 20-year-old Danielle Crawford.

According to ISP, attempts to locate Crawford’s next of kin have been unsuccessful.

Sunday at approximately 2:30 a.m. Crawford was struck and killed on I-65 after a preliminary investigation revealed a 2007 Mercury Sable operated by Rahsul Valentine, 26, allegedly struck her on the passenger side of the vehicle.

The collision caused Valentine to lose control of the vehicle.

Valentine and his passenger were uninjured in the crash, according to officials.

Crawford was pronounced dead at the scene.

Valentine was transported and incarcerated at the Jasper County Jailer in Rennselaer, Indiana.
