Costco's new policy requires all shoppers wear face coverings, even those with medical conditions

Costco is updating its face mask policy.

Starting November 16, all members, guests and employees will have to wear a face covering inside of its warehouses.

The face covering policy will not apply to children under the age of 2.

Costco issued its original face mask mandate back in May but didn’t require shoppers with medical conditions to wear masks.

Now, under the retailer’s new policy, if a shopper has a medical condition that prevents them from wearing a face mask, they must wear a face shield.

Those who are not wearing a face covering will be denied entry into Costco stores, according to the retailer.

“This updated policy may seem inconvenient to some; however, we believe the added safety is worth any inconvenience. Our goal is to continue to provide a safe shopping environment for our members and guests, and to provide a safe work environment for our employees,” Costco’s President and CEO, Craig Jelinek said in a statement.
