ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - Former St. Joseph County police officer Coty Hoffman appeared in court on Friday on charges he was drunk when he crashed his patrol car.
Hoffman was arrested in November after allegedly swerving off Hickory Road and running over a mailbox.
The 30-year-old resigned from the department earlier this month, right before facing disciplinary hearings.
On Friday, a judge allowed Hoffman to continue to driving a car as long as it has an ignition interlock, with a breathalyzer attached, to make sure he isn't intoxicated.
Hoffman is due back in court on March 3rd.
