Council approves changes to Goshen Police Department

GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Goshen City Council approved a plan submitted by the Goshen Police Department that will shift money from the assistant police chief and detective captain positions to two division chief positions.

The department hopes this will improve communication within the department and make it more cost efficient.

Combined, those division chiefs will make just under $120,000, a salary the police chief says is much lower than what has already been allocated.

One division chief will oversee the patrol duties for fellow officers. The other will oversee investigations.
