Couple arrested after drug warrant served

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A SWAT team stormed a St Joseph County home Monday looking for drugs. Now a couple is in police custody.

The warrant was served at a home on Hickory Road in St. Joseph County, Indiana.

It was less than a year ago that police were at the home investigating a violent armed robbery. Rebecca Turner claimed she was pistol whipped and her husband, Scott Weaver was held at gun point.

The couple said they were tied up while the robbers shot the family dog and ransacked the home.

Monday police were back at the Hickory Road residence around 10 a.m. with the SWAT team to execute a narcotics search warrant.

Officers from Saint Joseph County Sheriff's Department, Elkhart County Interdiction and Covert Enforcement Unit, the DEA and several other local agencies have been investigating the couple.

Monday’s raid uncovered a significant amount of methamphetamine, some marijuana, a gun and ammo.

Police say the couple has not yet been formally charged but this warrant was the result of an extensive ongoing investigation.
