Court sentences driver who fled police, crashed into utility pole

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A man who fled from police and crashed into a utility pole has been sentenced to one year in prison, according to court records.

Corey Michael Allen Forrest pleaded guilty to false identity statement and resisting law enforcement with a vehicle. His charges of driving while suspended and leaving the scene of an accident were dismissed.

On March 30, Forrest was sentenced to a year in prison for the false identity statement and 18 months for resisting law enforcement. The sentences will run concurrently.

The same day he was sentenced in this case, his probation in another was case revoked and he was sentenced to a year in prison for an auto theft conviction.

The sentences in the two cases will run consecutively.
