Driver injured in crash on CR 46 in Elkhart County

Deputies shut down CR 46 Friday morning after a vehicle drove off the road and crashed into a tree, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office.

The crash was reported at 10:07 a.m. Friday.

Deputies said a Ford Ranger pickup was traveling westbound on CR 46 west of SR 19 when the driver lost control, crossed the center line, ran off the south side of the road and struck a tree.

The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of head pain and a cut to the face.
